to Reconciliation

Our vision for Reconciliation is to contribute to collaborative understanding and genuine relationships with Indigenous communities. What we do creates meaningful change with positive benefits in and around the communities in which we work.

Our Commitment

As part of our commitment to reconciliation, we have four areas of focus:

Accountability

Remain accountable, with continuous measurement and progress reporting.

Genuine Relationships

Foster genuine relationships with Indigenous communities by spending time in community.

Building Knowledge

Build knowledge through learning resources, knowledge sharing opportunities, and participation in events.

Workplace Opportunities

Provide employment and procurement opportunities, and create a culture of belonging.

As part of our commitment to reconciliation, we have four areas of focus:

  • We use equitable capacity-building, labour, and procurement practices, which includes support for Indigenous youth, employment of Indigenous Peoples and use of Indigenous-owned businesses.
  • We are committed to meaningful change with Indigenous communities through increased internal knowledge and dedication of time and resources for engagement.

About the Artwork

Four Connections, by Kenneth Letander, highlights the stories, cultures, and journeys of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit (Indigenous) Peoples. At the center is a circle, symbolizing connection across its four quadrants. In the lower left, a city skyline appears with two trees. Within the buildings, outlines of a teepee (symbolizing shelter and safety) and a turtle (symbolizing knowledge) are visible, representing urban Indigenous Peoples. The art serves as a reminder of the importance of engaging with and acknowledging Indigenous communities living in cities.
